Chloe Kingsley, a Dallas artist, visits her archaeologist sister in Egypt and, crossing a forbidden chamber, is swept into the ancient Egypt of Pharaoh Hatshepsut. There her identity merges with that of a priestess in a setting of politics, secrets, and romance that culminates in the biblical Exodus.
