«República sideral» is the puppet theater play by María Esther Fernández Carrodeguas, published by Baía Edicións in paperback (72 pages).
A humorous theatrical text with biting retorts that recreates a real historical episode with well-drawn characters and elements of slapstick comedy. The stage dynamism makes the play suitable for all audiences: it seeks for different generations to converse after the performance about the past and difficult political concepts.
Text in Galician. Winner of the XIV Barriga Verde Prize (2020), it is no. 19 of the Barriga Verde collection, co-published with Agadic and illustrated by Lucía Rodríguez Cobo.
Recommended for ages 12 and up; its intergenerational approach invites young people and adults to share the performance and talk about history.
