«Resalgario» is the children's fantasy and humor novel by Antonio Reigosa, published by Xerais in paperback (104 pages, in Galician).
Resalgario, one of the younger sons of the Demo Maior, has a demonic appearance that includes a rabbit face, hairy hands, goat feet and a coiled tail. For fleeing hell, his father punishes him to go on a pilgrimage to Compostela for a year; disguised as a human, he must rely on his wits to overcome the situations he encounters along the way. The work recovers the tone of oral tradition tales, with humor and mischief as the driving forces of the narrative.
It belongs to the Merlín collection (De 11 anos en diante) by Xerais. Raíña Lupa Prize for children's literature 2000. Includes illustrations by Santy Gutiérrez.
Recommended for young readers aged 11 and up, especially for those who enjoy humorous fantasy inspired by Galician oral tradition.
