«Romancero de la Historia de España» is the historical poetry collection by Jaime Campmany, published by La Esfera de los Libros in paperback (662 pages, in Spanish).
The book reviews the history of Spain in verse, from Atapuerca to the Catholic Monarchs, combining chronicle and poetry. Characters such as Viriato, El Cid or Almanzor and episodes such as the Roman conquest, Covadonga or Las Navas de Tolosa parade through, in a minstrel-toned narrative.
Volume I of the work, subtitled From Atapuerca to the Catholic Monarchs. Published in 2004, it includes more than twenty-five thousand verses.
For readers interested in the history of Spain and lovers of narrative poetry and the traditional romance.
