«Room» is the contemporary fiction novel by Emma Donoghue, published by Picador in the Picador Classic collection in paperback (432 pages, in English).
Jack, a five-year-old boy, knows only the room where he lives with his mother, whom he calls Ma; for him it is the whole world, for her it is a prison where she has been captive for seven years. Ma decides to risk everything with an escape plan that depends on the boy's courage, in a story narrated by Jack about the mother-child bond and resilience.
Part of the Picador Classic collection, includes an introduction by John Boyne and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
Aimed at readers of contemporary fiction who appreciate child narrators and stories centered on the relationship between mother and son.
