«Ruth» is the epistolary novel by Guillem Viladot, published by Columna in paperback (161 pages, in Catalan).
Ruth recounts, through the protagonist's letters to an anonymous friend, her transition from man to woman: frustrations, longing for freedom and a transforming identity. The novel champions diversity of thought, love, freedom and desire, and denounces the limits of the masculine and the feminine.
The first edition of «Ruth» was published in 2000 and belongs to the Clàsica collection (number 393).
It is intended for readers of Catalan fiction interested in gender identity and in the revision of masculine and feminine roles.
Spanish writer and poet (1922-1999)
