«Schöpfung auf Raten» is the popular science essay by Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan, published by Droemer Knaur in paperback (608 pages, in German).
Starting from Darwin and his theory of evolution, the work traces more than a billion years to reconstruct the forgotten links that connect humans with the rest of life. Sagan and Druyan blend biology, anthropology and philosophy to show how that past conditions our way of understanding and changing ourselves.
German translation published in 1995; the English original, «Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors», appeared in 1992. Part of the Knaur Taschenbücher collection.
For readers interested in human evolution and anthropology.
