«Science Verse» is the children's book of science poems by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith, published by Scholastic in hardcover (40 pages, in English).
A fourth-grade student falls asleep in science class and, in his imagination, the whole subject turns into poems: the periodic table, evolution, dinosaurs, and other scientific topics appear humorously in verses and collage-style illustrations.
In 2005 it won the Golden Duck Award in the Picture Book category and in 2006 it was nominated for the Vermont Golden Dome Book Award.
Recommended for young readers and science classrooms, where poetry and humor bring scientific topics closer in an enjoyable way.
