Senilidad is the second novel by Italo Svevo, first published in 1898. The story follows Emilio Brentani, a man struggling to manage his inner life and his complex relationships with his sister Amalia, his friend Stefano Balli, and the young Angiolina. Through meticulous psychological introspection, Svevo explores the protagonist's inertia, indecision, and premature senility, establishing the work as a cornerstone of modern literature. This 2012 edition by Ediciones Espuela de Plata features a translation by Pedro Gozalbes and a prologue by Antonio Prieto.
