«Si esto es un hombre» is Primo Levi's autobiographical testimony about Auschwitz, published by Austral in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
The author narrates in the first person his deportation and his time in Auschwitz: he describes the dehumanization process of the prisoners, the organization of the camp, the extreme conditions, and the struggle to preserve identity and dignity. The book also arises from the need to bear witness so that the atrocity experienced would be credible.
First volume of the Auschwitz Trilogy, translated by Pilar Gómez Bedate and part of the Contemporánea collection.
For readers interested in the history of the Holocaust, World War II, and survival testimonies.

Primo Michele Levi was a Jewish Italian chemist, partisan, Holocaust survivor and writer. He was the author of several books, collections of short stories, essays, poems and one novel. His best-known works include: If This Is a Man, his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland; and The Periodic Table (1975), a collection of mostly autobiographical short stories, each named after a chemical element which plays a role in each story, which the Royal Institution named the best science book ever written.
