«Si esto es un hombre» is Primo Levi's testimonial account, published by El Aleph Editores in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
Primo Levi narrates his captivity in Auschwitz through the camp's daily experience: arrival, work organization, relations among prisoners, and the struggle to maintain dignity. Written so the world would know what happened, it is a fundamental testimony of Holocaust literature.
First volume of the Auschwitz Trilogy, completed by The Truce and The Drowned and the Saved. The Italian original was published in 1947; this edition belongs to the Personalia collection.
Will interest readers of nonfiction, contemporary history, and survival stories.

Primo Michele Levi was a Jewish Italian chemist, partisan, Holocaust survivor and writer. He was the author of several books, collections of short stories, essays, poems and one novel. His best-known works include: If This Is a Man, his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland; and The Periodic Table (1975), a collection of mostly autobiographical short stories, each named after a chemical element which plays a role in each story, which the Royal Institution named the best science book ever written.
