«Si esto es un hombre» is Primo Levi's testimony about his experience in Auschwitz, published by Quinteto in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
Primo Levi narrates his experience as a prisoner of Auschwitz and describes systematic dehumanization: violence, hunger, forced labor, and loss of identity. With a sober and precise tone, he reflects on what remains of the human being when stripped of everything, and writes so that horror does not become invisible or inconceivable.
First volume of the Auschwitz Trilogy. The original text was published in Italian as «Se questo è un uomo».
For readers of contemporary history and testimonial literature interested in the Holocaust and in the direct testimony of one who endured it.

Primo Michele Levi was a Jewish Italian chemist, partisan, Holocaust survivor and writer. He was the author of several books, collections of short stories, essays, poems and one novel. His best-known works include: If This Is a Man, his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland; and The Periodic Table (1975), a collection of mostly autobiographical short stories, each named after a chemical element which plays a role in each story, which the Royal Institution named the best science book ever written.
