«Sideways Stories from Wayside School» is Louis Sachar's humorous children's book of stories, in paperback (128 pages, in English).
Wayside School was mistakenly built with thirty floors instead of thirty classrooms in a row, and on its top floor the most absurd things happen. The stories focus on peculiar students and teachers: Todd, who is always sent home; John, who reads only upside down; or Sammy, the new kid with a surprising secret.
First book in the Wayside School series, which continues with Wayside School Is Falling Down and Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger.
Recommended for readers aged 7 to 13 looking for short, wacky, and humorous school stories.
