«Sleepy Sam» is the children's picture book by Michael Catchpool, published by Little Tiger Press in hardcover (32 pages, in English).
Sam is an efficient shepherd, but he has a small problem: he falls asleep every time he counts his sheep. When they escape through the open gate, the sheep wreak havoc in town: they trample gardens, nibble on hanging laundry, and knock over garden gnomes. The story asks what will happen when Sam starts working at a zoo.
The tale is illustrated by Eleanor Taylor and was originally published on March 30, 2001.
Aimed at preschool children and early readers, useful for shared read-aloud sessions.
