In Sleepyhead, Detective Inspector Tom Thorne faces a chilling case: three young women suddenly die from a stroke, and a fourth, Alison Willetts, is found alive but in a state of total paralysis. Thorne discovers that the victims were induced into a state where they cannot move, speak, or do anything but think. With the help of a neurologist, Thorne must enter the mind of a brilliant and elusive killer to prevent Alison from becoming the next victim of this sadistic game.
