«Sota la pols» is the autobiographical novel by Jordi Coca, published by Proa in paperback (224 pages, in Catalan).
Autobiographical in basis, the novel follows a child in the stifling atmosphere of the 1940s and 1950s, where he lives with a violent and authoritarian father. His discovery of literature comes through some singular, mysterious and intelligent neighbors, who open a door to imagination for him.
Winner of the Premi Sant Jordi 2000 and the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona (2001), it is part of the A TOT VENT-BETA collection (no. 56).
For readers of contemporary Catalan fiction interested in stories of childhood and postwar memory.
