«S.P.Q.R. el senador de Roma» is the historical novel by Mika Waltari, published by Editora y Distribuidora Hispano Americana, S.A. in hardcover (960 pages, in Spanish).
Under the protection of Emperor Claudius, young Minutus Lausus Manilianus balances the pleasures of Rome with his ambition for a public career. His travels through Britain and Jerusalem allow Waltari to unfold a great fresco of imperial Rome, peopled by characters such as Nero, Vespasian, Seneca and Agrippina, in a plot of intrigues and social ascent.
The book belongs to the Narrativas Históricas collection from Edhasa and is the second part of the diptych featuring Minutus Lausus Manilianus.
Recommended for readers of classic historical fiction interested in the Roman Empire and in the narrative of Nordic authors.
