«Sute handi bat ene bihotzean» is the young adult novel by Joxemari Iturralde, published by Pamiela argitaletxea in paperback (102 pages, in Basque).
The narrator asserts that everything can burn —a tree, a forest, an entire village— and that people burn too. In his chest burns a fire that is hard to extinguish, and he wonders if the reader knows what fire he means and whether they have ever been in love. A reflection on love and passion narrated in the first person.
This work belongs to the Gazte Literatura collection, is its second edition, and features illustrations by Pedro Oses.
Novel recommended for ages 12 and up, for Basque readers and lovers of Basque young adult literature.
