«Territorio vedado» is the poetry collection by Manuel Jurado López, published by Ediciones Endymion in paperback (83 pages, in Spanish).
A poetry collection in which the author refines language to achieve an expressive sobriety that intensifies the emotional and rational tone. Colloquialism and intertextuality interlock in poems that pose an enigma to the reader. It is not complacent: the whole conveys loss, disenchantment and defeat, tempered by a subtle melancholic irony.
Winner of the XII Aljabibe Poetry Prize, whose jury was chaired by Pablo García Baena. Published in 2012.
For readers of contemporary Spanish-language poetry seeking a refined voice and an ironic gaze on loss and disenchantment.
