«The Hare and the Tortoise» is a children's adaptation of Aesop's fable by Mairi Mackinnon, published by Usborne in paperback (24 pages, in English).
In this version of Aesop's fable, a conceited hare mocks the tortoise for her slowness and challenges her to a race. Confident in her speed, the hare stops to rest and underestimates her rival; the tortoise, with steady pace, continues without giving up to the finish line. A story that shows how perseverance can overcome arrogance.
