«The Last Don» is Mario Puzo's crime novel about the Clericuzio family, published by Arrow in paperback (482 pages, in English).
Patriarch Domenico Clericuzio, at the head of the last great mafia dynasty, tries to get his family to leave crime behind forever. But blood debts and the ambitions of the new generation, embodied in his grandsons Dante and Cross, reignite a conflict of power, betrayal and loyalty that threatens to destroy them.
Mario Puzo is also the author of The Godfather and screenwriter of its three movies. The novel was originally published in 1996; this Arrow edition is from 1997.
For readers of mafia fiction and crime thrillers, especially those who already enjoyed The Godfather by the same author.

Mario Francis Puzo was an American author and screenwriter. He wrote crime novels about the Italian-American Mafia and Sicilian Mafia, most notably The Godfather (1969), which he later co-adapted into a film trilogy directed by Francis Ford Coppola. He received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the first film in 1972 and for Part II in 1974. Puzo also wrote the original screenplay for the 1978 Superman film and its 1980 sequel. His final novel, The Family, was released posthumously in 2001.
