«Todas las mujeres» is the novel by José María Conget, published by Alfaguara in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
The work interweaves a contemporary love story with digressions by the author/narrator addressed to the reader and the editor. The constant cinematic references sharpen the descriptions and lend a lucid tone, while the ironic humor reveals the narrator's insecurities and obsessions; in the end, those interspersed notes prove as novelistic as the love affair itself.
The novel was originally published in 1989 and reissued in 1998 in the Alfaguara Hispánica collection.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction interested in metafictional games and cinematic references.
