«Tristán encoge» is the children's story by Florence Parry Heide, illustrated by Edward Gorey, in hardcover, published by Blackie Books (80 pages, in Spanish).
Tristán begins to shrink without explanation, but the adults, absorbed in their worries, fail to notice. The story explores the feeling of being small and invisible and asks what would happen if one day he really did shrink, in a tender, unsettling and funny tale about the blindness of the adult world to childhood.
First installment of the series The Adventures of Treehorn. Original title: «The Shrinking of Treehorn». Foreword by David Trueba and translation by Manuel Broncano.
Recommended reading from age 6, for young readers who enjoy fantastical stories and illustrations.
