The novel recreates the life of Tsippora (Zipporah), a dark-skinned Cushite woman raised among the Midianites, who meets Moses, a Hebrew fugitive from Egypt, by a well. Their love affair and Tsippora's determination drive Moses to reconcile with his past and with the mission God entrusts to him.
Second installment of Marek Halter's series «La Bible au féminin», originally published in 2003.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction and biblical fiction interested in female reinterpretations of Old Testament characters.
