«Un baile de máscaras» is the autobiographical novel by Sergio Ramírez, published by Alfaguara in paperback (230 pages, in Spanish).
In a Nicaraguan village, two feuding families and a parade of eccentric characters prepare a costume ball in honor of a local socialite on August 5, 1942. The novel, with humor and lively dialogue, looks nostalgically at the music and popular culture that mark the young protagonist's childhood.
The book belongs to the Alfaguara Hispánica collection and the novel is divided into seven chapters.
