«Una historia familiar» is the young adult novel by Christine Nöstlinger, published by Alfaguara in paperback (183 pages, in Spanish).
Gretchen Sackmeier is fourteen and lives with her family, an unusual one: they are all overweight but lead a happy life. When her mother falls in love and decides to lose weight, the harmony breaks and arguments erupt. The neighbors call the Sackmeiers «los cinco sacos»; this is the story of how they try to find each other again.
First installment of the Gretchen Sackmeier saga; the original German title is «Gretchen Sackmeier: Eine Familiengeschichte».
It is aimed at a young adult audience; its humor and simple style make it an agile read.

Christine Nöstlinger was an Austrian writer best known for children's books.
