«Versos de fazer ó-ó» is a children's poetry book by José Jorge Letria, illustrated by André Letria, published by Terramar (64 pages, in Portuguese).
The book brings together verses that poeticize a mythical universe: human characters coexist with magical and fantastic entities, in dreamlike images with echoes of childhood and oral tradition. Figures such as João Pestana or the Papão appear, and the language plays with alliterations, repetitions, and anaphoric structures to celebrate the mother tongue.
First edition published in Lisbon by Terramar in 1999. Work recognized with the Prémio Nacional de Ilustração.
Recommended for children and for reading aloud in Portuguese, especially as bedtime reading.
