An emigrant who returns to his village after many years evokes rural Castilian life at the beginning of the 20th century: routine, superstition, backwardness and poverty, along with rootedness and community life. The book is completed with «La caza de la perdiz roja», a dialogue between an old partridge hunter and a hunter about hunting.
The book belongs to the El Libro de Bolsillo collection, number 164, Literature section, published by Alianza Editorial, Madrid.
For readers of Spanish narrative and contemporary fiction with an interest in the rural Castilian world.
