«Vilko laimė» (original: «La felicità del lupo») is the novel by Paolo Cognetti, published by Alma littera in hardcover (176 pages, in Lithuanian).
Fausto, a writer who has broken with his past, takes refuge in the mountains of his childhood and starts working as a cook at the village's only inn. There he meets Babete, Santorso and Silvia, while the wolves return to the range. Caring for others gives him back a sense of belonging: a story about nature and human bonds.
The Italian original, «La felicità del lupo» (2021), was longlisted for the Europese Literatuurprijs 2022. The Lithuanian translation is by Rasa Klioštoraitytė. The author won the Strega Prize for «Ocho montañas».
A read for those seeking slow-paced novels about the mountains and human bonds, especially readers who already enjoyed «Ocho montañas».
