«Wizards, Tome 1 : L'initiation» is the young adult fantasy novel by Diane Duane, published by Lumen in paperback (330 pages, in French).
The story begins with Nita in a library, where she finds a book titled How to Become a Wizard in Ten Lessons. Reading it leaves her confused, incredulous and euphoric: if it is not a joke, that manual could be something extraordinary. The protagonist is left wondering whether magic could be real.
First installment of the Young Wizards series. Translation by Mathilde Tamae-Bouhon of the English original So You Want to Be a Wizard (1983). This edition was published in 2014.
Aimed at young readers and fans of urban fantasy: an initiation story featuring a young woman who discovers magic.
Diane Duane is an American science fiction and fantasy author, long based in Ireland. Her works include the Young Wizards young adult fantasy series and the Rihannsu Star Trek novels.
