P. C. Cast was born in 1960 in Watseka, Illinois, and spent her childhood moving between Illinois and Oklahoma.
Before becoming a full-time author, she served in the United States Air Force, where she began her journey in public speaking and writing.
Her deep interest in mythology and Quarter Horses developed during her formative years in Oklahoma.
She spent fifteen years as a high school teacher before retiring to focus entirely on her writing career.
Since 2007, she has frequently collaborated on her books with her daughter, Kristin Cast, achieving significant literary success.
