«Orgelbüchlein» (BWV 599-644) is the classical music album by Johann Sebastian Bach performed on the organ by René Saorgin, released on CD by Harmonia Mundi in 2002.
The disc gathers the cycle of small organ pieces known as Orgelbüchlein, in which Bach explores the Lutheran chorale tradition with brief preludes of great contrapuntal richness. René Saorgin plays the organ of the church of Luxeuil, in a Baroque-style recording that preserves the sobriety and color of eighteenth-century German sacred music.
The recording belongs to the Musique d'Abord collection, in its recent CD reissue by Harmonia Mundi. The album includes a single disc with pieces BWV 599 to 644.
Suitable for classical music listeners and for those seeking a historical version of Bach's organ repertoire.
