Written in 1940 in a German prisoner-of-war camp, this quartet for violin, clarinet, cello and piano premiered before 5,000 inmates. Inspired by the Apocalypse, it consists of eight movements alternating praise, dance and calm; among them stand out 'Liturgie de cristal', 'Abîme des oiseaux' and 'Louange à l'immortalité de Jésus'.
The 20-page booklet includes notes in French, English and German; the total duration is 46'49'' and the catalog number is HMT 7901348.
