«Reich Remixed» is the album of remixes by Steve Reich released in 1999 on Nonesuch, on CD.
The record brings together ten pieces from Steve Reich's repertoire —including Music for 18 Musicians, Eight Lines and City Life— transformed by producers such as Coldcut, Howie B, DJ Spooky or Ken Ishii. The versions retain the rhythmic, repetitive base of minimalism, but take it into danceable, ambient and experimental territory.
The CD includes 10 remixes, with the extra track «The Desert Music» by freQ, Nasty & B.L.I.M.
Aimed at electronic music fans and listeners who want to approach minimalism from a danceable angle.
