«A punta de pistola» is the young adult adventure novel by Fran Alonso, published by Edicións Xerais in paperback (144 pages, in Galician).
The plot begins when O Varas and his wife, Rica, snatch their children from a care center and go on the run with them. In parallel, an enterprising female truck driver who writes a blog, an admirer of Celia Rivas, the first woman to drive a truck in 1932, offers an intimate counterpoint. Based on a real case, the novel combines action with social and family breakdown, the role of women and new technologies.
The work, published in 2012, belongs to the Fóra de Xogo collection and was awarded the XII Premio de Novela por Entregas La Voz de Galicia.
Recommended by the publisher for readers aged 14 and over.
