«Abaddon» is the science fiction and theological satire novel by James Morrow, published by Il Saggiatore in paperback (384 pages, in Italian).
The Holy See sells the body of God, found apparently dead in the Arctic, to the American Baptist Confederation, which turns it into an attraction at a biblical theme park in Pennsylvania. Martin Candle, justice of the peace of Abaddon, decides to bring God before the International Court of Justice in The Hague to judge him for the evils of humanity.
«Abaddon» is the second installment of the Godhead series, following «L'ultimo viaggio di Dio»; it was originally published as «Blameless in Abaddon» (1996), in an Italian translation by Vittorio Curtoni.
For readers of science fiction and theological satire, with a taste for religious speculation and irreverent humor.
James Morrow is an American novelist and short-story writer known for filtering large philosophical and theological questions through his satiric sensibility.
