Synopsis of An Englishman in Madrid
En 'Un inglés en Madrid', Anthony Whitelands, un historiador de arte inglés, es invitado a Madrid para tasar la colección de un duque español. Durante un almuerzo de bienvenida, conoce a José Antonio Primo de Rivera, fundador y líder de la Falange. Los cuadros resultan ser inútiles, pero antes de que Whitelands pueda regresar a Londres, la hija del duque, Paquita, revela un tesoro secreto y genuino, guardado durante años en los sótanos de su hogar ancestral. Temiendo que el duque utilice su riqueza para financiar a la Falange, las autoridades españolas deciden vigilar de cerca al inglés, quien también está siendo vigilado por su propia embajada. Mientras Whitelands compite con Primo de Rivera por el afecto de Paquita, se entera de un último interesado: Madrid está plagado de espías soviéticos, y Moscú no se detendrá ante nada para asegurar el premio oculto.
