«As Preocupações do Billy» is Anthony Browne's children's picture book, published by Kalandraka in paperback (32 pages, in Portuguese).
Billy worries about everything: hats, shoes, clouds, rain... His grandmother teaches him the secret of worry dolls, figures from Guatemala to which worries are told before sleeping. Browne draws the fears in gray and fills the pages with color with the dolls, in a comforting story about sharing what troubles you.
Work originally published in English as «Silly Billy»; this Portuguese edition is translated by Isabelle Buratti and Miguel Mouro and belongs to Kalandraka's Obras de autor collection.
Recommended for preschool children, especially for reading aloud; a good starting point for talking about childhood fears.
Anthony Edward Tudor Browne is a British writer and illustrator of children's books, primarily picture books. Browne has written or illustrated more than fifty books, and received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000. From 2009 to 2011, he was Children's Laureate.
