«Aura dans l'arène» is the historical young-adult novel by Pilar Molina Llorente, published by Flammarion in paperback, with 190 pages and in French.
Set in ancient Rome, the story follows Aura, a young girl raised among slaves in a palace. Daughter of a jeweler, her life is already planned by her grandmother, who wants to marry her to a patrician. One day she follows a boy through the streets and reaches an unknown neighborhood where the first Christians live, an ideal that has nothing to do with her family environment.
It belongs to the Castor Poche collection, number 409; it was originally published as «Aura Gris» in 1988.
Young-adult novel suitable for readers aged 9 to 12, especially for those who enjoy ancient Rome and stories of personal discovery.
