«¡Cierra la boca!» is the children's fantasy tale by Miguel Ángel Mendo, published by Santillana Educación in paperback (120 pages, in Spanish).
Marta has an extraordinary gift that soon becomes a problem: everything she says comes true. To prevent her words from causing terrible situations, she decides to stop talking, but silence doesn't protect her from the spell either. The story invites reflection on the power of words and the importance of communicating.
The work is illustrated by Emilio Urberuaga and was published in March 2004 in the Alfaguara Infantil line.
For child and young readers aged 10 and up, especially those who enjoy fantasy stories about the power of words.
