Córrer

Synopsis of Córrer

Córrer is a vibrant, elliptical, and ironic novel that chronicles forty years of the exceptional life of Emil Zátopek, the legendary Czechoslovakian athlete. Through agile and precise prose, Jean Echenoz narrates how Zátopek revolutionized training techniques and became a global icon of athletics, facing not only his rivals on the track but also the pressures and oppressions of a turbulent century. It is a work that transcends biography to become a literary portrait of resilience and the pursuit of freedom in the face of power.
