«Dooi» is the novel by Barbara Voors, published by De Geus in hardcover (377 pages, in Dutch).
One winter day, Fredrik and his nine-year-old daughter, Elin, venture onto a frozen lake and disappear without a trace. The police believe it was an accident, but Daniel, a prosecutor and family friend, begins investigating on his own. The disappearance uncovers a web of lies and hidden relationships that shakes Iris, the wife, and those around Fredrik.
The original Swedish title is 'Islossning'. The Dutch translation is by Janny Middelbeek-Oortgiesen. De Geus published it in May 2008.
