«El camarada Don Camilo» is the humorous novel by Giovanni Guareschi, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback (288 pages, in Spanish).
In rural postwar Italy, the communist mayor of Brescello, Peppone, and the priest Don Camilo, irreconcilable rivals, travel to the USSR in the 1950s. Their clashes and reconciliations sustain a satirical comedy about coexistence between communism and Catholicism, with two characters who are more alike than they admit.
Third installment of the Don Camillo series, whose original title is Il compagno Don Camillo. Edition published in 2004.
For those seeking a classic Italian comedy with political and social undertones.
Giovannino Oliviero Giuseppe Guareschi was an Italian journalist, cartoonist and humorist whose best known creation is the priest Don Camillo.
