«El Cid contado a los niños» is the children's adaptation of the Cantar de Mio Cid by Rosa Navarro Durán (edebé, paperback, 192 pages, Spanish).
Rosa Navarro Durán adapts the Cantar de Mio Cid for children, an epic poem that follows Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar from the exile imposed on him by Alfonso VI to his deeds in the Reconquista. Amid battles and ruses, the narrative also captures tender moments of the hero with his wife and daughters, bringing a medieval classic to early readers.
Illustrated by Francesc Rovira, it belongs to the collection Clásicos contados a los niños and was published by edebé in 2008 in its first edition.
For children aged 6 and up and for those beginning with the classics of Spanish literature.
