«El espantapájaros amigo» is the picture book with text by Xosé Neira Vilas and illustrations by Xaquín Marín, published by Kalandraka in hardcover.
Uncle Ramón has a fig tree whose fruits are the envy of the village, until some blackbirds decide to feast on them. To scare them away, he makes a scarecrow from branches, straw and old clothes; but his creation, with a peach heart, turns out so human that the story becomes a celebration of friendship and nature.
Part of Kalandraka's «libros para soñar» collection. First edition 2009.
For readers aged 7 to 9, with a message about friendship that invites classroom discussion.
Xosé Neira Vilas was a Galician writer.
