«El incongruente» is the avant-garde novel by Ramón Gómez de la Serna, published by Orbis in hardcover (214 pages, in Spanish).
The work is an unclassifiable narrative that mixes short story, poem and biography. Its chapters, closed and open at the same time like snails, allow it to be read from any point: the story seems to begin again on every page. It is an example of the avant-gardism of Ramón Gómez de la Serna and his view of the incongruity of life and society.
The work belongs to the collection Historia de la Literatura Española, no. 13, and this edition was published in 1982.
Recommended for readers interested in Spanish avant-garde narrative and in the work of Ramón Gómez de la Serna.
