«El nou» is the children's and young adult novel by David Almond, published by Animallibres in paperback, with 328 pages, in Catalan.
George arrives in Dan and Maxie's class; everyone finds him strange: he is very polite, with an inexpressive gaze and voice, he doesn't respond to simple things, although he knows everything and plays soccer like a machine. Dan's gang suspects the new boy needs help. The novel invites reflection on being human, differences and friendship.
«El nou» is the seventh volume of the L'Arca collection, published in 2021, with illustrations by Marta Altés and translation by Aurora Ballester.
Recommended for readers aged 8 to 12 who want to reflect on difference and friendship.
David John Almond was born May 15, 1951 and is a British author who has written many novels for children and young adults from 1998, each one receiving critical acclaim.
