«El valle de los Cocuyos» is the children's fantasy novel by Gloria Cecilia Díaz, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (123 pages, in Spanish).

Jerónimo lives in an imaginary valley of exuberant Latin American nature, among trees, lizards and salt volcanoes, with Anastasia, the old woman who raised him. His life changes when he accompanies the Lost Birdman in search of two wonderful birds; a magical journey in which he also hopes to discover the secret of his origins.

Winner of the El Barco de Vapor Prize in 1985 and illustrated by Francisco Meléndez. It is number 31 in the El Barco de Vapor collection, red series.
