«En Roger i el xoriguer» is the children's novel by Pere Martí i Bertran, published by Barcanova in paperback (56 pages, in Catalan).
Roger is eight years old and dreams of becoming a veterinarian like his uncle, who runs a bird recovery center. Every summer he spends a few days with him. When a farmer brings them an injured kestrel, Roger follows its recovery closely until it is released. That experience awakens his sensitivity and makes him discover poetry.
Published in 2009, it is part of the Sopa de llibres collection, orange series, and includes illustrations by Noemí Villamuza.
Suitable reading for children aged 8 to 12 interested in animals, nature and adventures.
