«Escuta a minha voz» is the novel by Susanna Tamaro, published by Editorial Presença in paperback (160 pages, in Portuguese).
The novel is born from the memory of the felling of the courtyard tree in the protagonist's childhood, an image of a life marked by loss and resentment. The protagonist, in search of what she lacks, traces her family's history; several generations intertwine like branches of a tree until the search is crowned with affection.
It is a sequel to «Vai aonde te leva o coração» and was originally published in Italian in 2006 as «Ascolta la mia voce».
For readers of intimate fiction and family sagas with emotional depth, interested in contemporary Italian literature.
